Food is symbolic of love, when words are inadequate

I am the kind of person who likes the only thing better, to talk about food is eating, and I go by the principle that one cannot think well, do well, or even sleep well if one has not dined well. Food is something which appends and links the entire ecosystem. Food is something for which everyone has once craved for, craving right now, or will crave in the future. According to my perspective, if we take food today, it will become us tomorrow.

Food waste is food material that is unable to be eaten or sold which is discarded as trash. Almost a billion people are going hungry and we waste 1/3rd of the food we produce. Food waste is something that affects us all. It happens anywhere food has a presence; the grocery store, restaurants, in our homes, at schools, on farms, in production and even in transportation. Like many things, we just don’t bother or we don’t feel that we have the time. We aren’t realizing how much it affects each of us. Have you ever taken the time to stop and think about it?

Thinking about it, I realize that every day I throw something away that could be saved and eaten later. When I take the trash out there are a number of food items that don’t need to be there. After we finish dinner I am wiping food off of plates and realizing that I’ve made too much. Every time I clean out the fridge there is food going into the garbage because I waited too long to use it. Whatever the reason, I realize that it does affect me in many ways and it’s constantly happening in my home.

90% of what food material restaurants throw out could be reused or composed and 15% of all the food wastes that rounds up in the landfills comes from restaurants. Carbon dioxide that is released and emitted by the food waste in the landfills across the globe is more than the entire nation of India.

Reducing food waste will bring many benefits to society but consumers and businesses have to be willing to put forth the effort. There are simple solutions that can be implicated in production, distribution, and households in order to decrease food waste. The quality of food in society has declined due to its accessibility.
